Strangers No Longer:
Strangers No Longer is a grassroots network of residents from across Michigan who are committed to responding to the struggles of our immigrant and migrant neighbors through education, advocacy, and accompaniment. We are organized through Circles of Support that are often connected to Catholic Parishes. The group takes its name from the 2000 statement from the US Conference of Catholic Bishops called "Welcoming the Stranger Among Us: Unity in Diversity."
As Catholics we are called to take concrete measures to overcome the misunderstanding, ignorance, competition, and fear that stand in the way of genuinely welcoming the stranger in our midst and enjoying the communion that is our destiny as Children of God.
